UEPLHS senior student champs National Essay Writing Contest

Sigrid Lorielle Corocoto Cabili, fourth year Gold student of the University of Eastern Philippines Laboratory High School (UEPLHS) Main Campus, bested more than 50 other contestants from other state and private high schools in the Philippines as she was declared Champion in the December 14, 2014 National On-the-Spot Essay Writing Contest held during the 52nd Rizal Youth Leadership Conference at the Teachers’ Camp, Baguio City.

Cabili received a medal, certificate, and five-thousand peso cash prize. Prof. Liza B. Calixtro, UEPLHS English teacher served as her coach.

Aside from Cabili, four other UEPLHS students brought home the bacon from the same conference-contests. Howard Kent Tafalla was adjudged fifth placer in Extemporaneous Speaking. In the Makabayang Sayawitan, Justine Mapette Merida won the second prize, while both Caryl Jean Gabriela O. Lucero and Kenneth Cu placed third. Dr.  Bernarda B. Rebadulla, UEPLHS Principal served as their coach.

The RYLI is an annual event of the Order of the Knights of Rizal, a socio-civic, non-profit and non-partisan organization chartered by R.A. 646 to organize and hold programs commemorative of Rizal’s nativity and martyrdom, that adheres to train the future leaders of the Pearl of the Orient Seas. #

The 2017 Rules of Procedure of the Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) has been published today, 15 September 2017, in two national newspapers of general circulation (the Philippine Star and Manila Bulletin). The Rules of Procedure shall apply to investigations, hearings, and proceedings of the PCC, except to matters involving mergers and acquisitions unless otherwise provided in the issuances and guidelines governing the same.
